The TranSCRIBE 2011 young writers competition is in its 8th biennial cycle this year. Young writers between the ages of 12-24 consider the journey a young person may face either in their own, their family or friends’ recovery from mental health issues including a range of opportunities and challenges facing young people in a multicultural society. The theme of this year’s TranSCRIBE competition is “Half Way Home”. Entries can be any form of writing including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, journal entries or letters.

TranSCRIBE 2011 Young Writers Competition is an initiative of Transcultural Mental Health Centre, and in 2011 is run in partnership with the Centre for the Advancement of Adolescent Health, Schizophrenia Fellowship (NSW) and the BlackDog Institute. The competition aims to open up dialogue as well as doors on issues related to mental health within culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse settings.
