An ignition interlock device or breath alcohol ignition interlock device (IID and BAIID) is installed on a motor vehicle’s dashboard ONLY if you are CONVICTED OR PLEAD GUILTY to DUI 18.2-266 (18.2-266.1). The key is that ignition interlock is only necessary if there is a conviction and only if there is a motion for a Restricted Driver’s License. Former Police Officer and Attorney Sudeep Bose explains the issues in-depth.
